More than 400 U.S. patent applications related to separators published between July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014. Olefins and plastics were the primary focus of these companies’ innovation, though LG Chem also appears to have a strong interest in cellulosic separators. LG Chem was the clear leader in separator patenting.
